My Oaky Long Termer - New ickle mod....

Post by Rigger on Mon Mar 30, 2009 8:52 am

    Hey Guys and Gals

After a lot of crap last year, ive finally got round to starting off the work on my Oaky.

Bought off Andrew Terry last year and originally was going to keep as is, but, as with the rest of ya - its kinda hard to do that.

Ive put a couple of pics of it as it was when i first got her and once the daylight comes tomorrow ill get some as she is now, which isnt really a great deal different apart from a wheel swap....

    Spec....

    Minter Oak Green 8v.
Reg'd Nov 91 so quite a late one.
    Mint Rainbow interior
Std Engine ( For now )
    Lowered on springs

Other than that just as mother VW intended.

Got loads im wanting to do to her, as im sure we all have, but the basics are

    17" Borbet C's ( Now On )
    Koni or Eibach Coilies
Twin Inward 2.5" Back Box to match the stainless pipe
    2.0L 9a with a twist
Leather Interior ( but not recovering the std one as its too mint )

Hope you like and more pics up tomorrow with the new wheels on....

Yeah, it is a very clean (well, it was filthy when I saw it) example.

I'll be interested to see it on the Borbets...

The 944 wheel went with the Jetta I'm afraid.

I do have a 3-spoke 924 wheel though... but it's a non-leather version as the leather one is going with the Mk2 tonight.

Yeah, should be home by then... got to get the Mk2 ready for it's new owner... BBS's off, interior in, etc. He's coming at 7, so forgive me if I'm flapping around a bit when you come!

This is now sat on 17" Borbet C's - and to be honest I really like it's new look. They're running on 35 profile tyres!

i think 17" suit a mk2 really well, especially on very low-pro's. and it upsets the haters who think 16" are too big lol
