Cannondale F3 MTB - awesome bike

Post by Geeman on Thu Jun 11, 2009 1:00 pm

I have for sale (as I'm never going to get around to using it) an '08 model Cannondale F3 'Caffeine' mountain bike. The size is 'medium' and I'm over 6ft and it comfortably fits me with no problem. The front shock is great... you can adjust the rebound of it, or turn it off completely great piece of kit. The gear shifters are 'two-way' which is quite trick too.

This amazing bike was very expensive to buy new and it really is a work of art and everytime I look at it it impresses me! You can tell from the pics that it's in immaculate condition, having hardly being used and it really shows... it's spotless!

So, here's the spec, review and pictures for your enjoyment.

A reveiw of the F3 by the magazine; Singletrack - they think it's pretty good!

"Everyone thought the factory look of the frame was great – with the crisp, chunky metal head badge at the front giving it a bit of a Mercedes vibe. The trademark matte black finish looks the business and is extremely hard wearing. Nice to see the ‘Handmade in USA’ sticker still there on Cannondale frames too”

“The HeadShok fork, well liked by Cannondale owners the world over for its almost unparalleled stiffness to weight ratio, discreet 80mm performance, massive mud clearance and the best lockout on the market”

“Every Cannondale we review always seems to get called the same thing: fast. The Caffeine is no different. Well, actually it is a bit different – it’s very fast”

“The steep 73.5 degree seat angle and short 16.5” chain stays do a great job of laying the power down without inducing wheelying or wandering. “The 70 degree head angle felt perfect. Not too steep as to become nervous or twitchy on steeper, rougher descents but steep enough not to dull the ultra responsive nature of the bike on fast ‘n’ twisty singletrack – helped no end by the supreme tracking of the HeadShok and frame. The 23” effective top tube was similarly perfect in this regard”

“Looking at the Caffeine’s saddle after six weeks’ worth of hard testing told us all we needed to know. This is a bike that is predominantly ridden stood up, usually in the big ring”

“There’s arguably no bike as thrilling as the Caffeine when it comes to annihilating woodland trails. We just couldn’t get enough of riding the Caffeine. A better name for this bike would be the Cannondale Crack Pipe. If you’ve been riding mountain bikes for years and want a bike that rewards and flatters decent fitness and handling skills then you need to try some Caffeine”

Won't be too big for you I wouldn't have thought... there's loads of length on the seat post to lower it down to Rach's height! lol!

PM'd you with the price, and added the rest of the pics.

Cheers Dan. It really is a trick piece of kit. I love it, but will never use it. Also, the money would be useful for the wedding... Rolling Eyes

Consider this a 'mobile gym' to keep yourself in shape. That'll sell it to her!
